Evaluation Consultant
Barbara Yeager recently retired as the Director of Education and Programs for the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP), a professional organization for people who advise the generous donors of planned and complex charitable gifts. CGP is a standard-setting organization, and Barbara has worked with volunteer task forces to create the National Standards for Gift Planning Success, the Guidelines for Reporting and Counting Charitable Gifts and the Valuation Standards for Charitable Planned Gifts. She also directed research projects for CGP and continues to serve as an advisor for projects of other organizations, including the Giving USA Foundation and the Nonprofit Research Collaborative.
As a creator and curator of professional resources for gift planners, Barbara developed the Essential Assets collection of resources on gifts of noncash assets. Each year she managed the education program for the national CGP Conference and supported community-building and peer learning programs to help gift planners across the country share tools and strategies that increase the impact of donors’ philanthropy.
In addition to her work on the national level, Barbara is a board member for CGP’s Indiana chapter and a long-time volunteer for Girl Scouts. She holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation from The American College of Financial Services and received a BA in English and an MA in library and information science from Kent State University.
